Jerk of the Year

Music: Mr- Everyone Mood: Excited?

Here's the biggest jerk/bastard/fiery penis/whatever you want to name him of the year, or till date.

This 30-year-old bastard slept with 6 women (or more) in 5 years' time. Has 2 kids but never took responsibilities in taking care of them. Often complains he doesn't have a pretty wife, thus holding the excuse to commit adultery AND hitting her all the time. He threatened his wife to abortion in return of their marriage at her tender age of 21. He was at another bitch's house during his wife's delivery, let alone being there for her.

When she finally had enough and file for a divorce, he's asking for forgiveness. Gosh, some even pitied him.

Wifey revealed the whole point of Bastard for putting up this show was to kill off all men after their divorce, so everyone would be intimidated of her.

I hope his balls itch like thousand infestations of lice, and get his penis yanked off by a crazy bitch.

Read more about it Here and Here.

Music: RubberBand

Music: Room Eleven- You Made Me See It Mood: Trying hard to relax

Introducing a rising Hongkie band called RubberBand .Here's a brief band intro and a little about their first album :~

Translated concisely, RubberBand is made up of four members: Frontman 6号、Keyboardist 艺琛、Bassist 阿伟、Lead Guitarist Clement and Drummer 泥鯭. They formed the Band in 2004 and performed in numerous big gigs around Hong Kong. Their first album, has been released in 2008 and all 15 songs were self composed by the members. They've also won their biggest award in 2008: 叱吒樂壇新力軍組合~金獎.

I can't remember the last time I've ever heard of a HK band, let alone praising any of them. RubberBand (it's actually 2 words, "Rubber" and "Band") is absolutely not another sickly bubblegum pop boyband. There's a funky and Jazzy edge to their songs, quite commercialized to be a rock band. Some might even think they don't qualified as a 'rock band' as they are too mainstream, and they don't do solo. Although I do admit they have some hints of pop, but speaking of commercializing their music, they have a way of getting people who doesn't like bands to love them. Moreover, there are not many bands, particularly those who don't play rock survived out there, especially in HK.

You'll like 'em if you enjoy listening to 卢广仲(Lu Guang Zhong) or Swing (a Hong Kong two- man group). Plus, I'm absolutely FOR people who rawk on live performances. 6号 is really good y' know!

Indians ruled the Night

Music: Eric Benet- Still I Believe Mood: Contented

Slumdog Millionaire wins big at the 81st Academy Awards 2009 by sweeping a total of 8 awards from 10 nominations including: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Score Music, Best Song, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Mixing, Best Cinemagraphy and Best Adapted Screenplay.

They have also won a clean sweep (4 out of 4 awards) in Golden Globe, 7 out of 11 from the UK BAFTA Awards and 5 of the 6 nominations from Critics' Choice Awards.

Like Ang Lee winning Best Director, I'm happy for their triumph at the Awards since it's another proven effort by non- mat Salleh on-screen casts, 100% Indians in fact.

Set in India, the movie is about Jamal Malik, an 18-year-old orphan who is one question away from winning twenty million Rupees on India's version of 'Who wants to be a millionaire?'. However, he has been whisk away by polices for suspected cheating as no one, including highly educated players have ever reached that level, let alone a poor kid from the slums of Mumbai. Jamal tells the story of how he relates his life experiences with each question on the show to prove his innocence.

This is a recommended great watch, given that we see Mumbai stripped to its rawest reality; from 'rubbish neighborhoods', deadly riots, to how they disable child street beggars to fetch higher prices. Director Danny Boyle (Trainspotting, 28 Days Later, The Beach) is bold enough to use unknown actors and I must commend on their Sound Editing, it's almost perfect. Since they have casted fully Indians on the movie, you are bound to expect 'The Indian way': Indian- styled acting and not forgetting the signature group dance.

两极

Music: 农夫- 富甲天下 Mood: stuck

That means at extreme ends.

Had an afternoon tea with old university classmates and talked about work.

We all graduated happily with a Degree in hand. In less than 3 years, one switched companies several times and yet still end up with appaling managers, another 2 seemed to be at their wits' ends with their boss.

Neither had a great time dealing with cranky bosses.

Then I bumped into Edward when he's busy poluting air outside The Gardens.

He's a freelance tour guide now who enjoys working flexibly and earns > 5K at peak seasons. Who can believe he has a Engineering Degree?? His shopping partner, who still remembers me from Wings Era, started working as a medical equipment Sales person without even a Certificate, emerged as a top sales within several years of hardwork and earns thousands of $$ every month. All this happens when he's merely a 19-year-old kiddo. Now he already owns a company who hires foreign maids. I don't know how old he is but DEFINITELY younger than I am -__-

We talked about our good o' fellow singing comrades. One is a cash cow/ big time investor who has ready properties in hand; some are renowned event performers who can earn up to 5-digits in every peak performing months.

They all worked their asses off, but their hard work were well paid off: they own houses and cars and fame. All are doing what they loved to do, all are having the time of their lives.

I've just met with friends from what seems to be my life's extreme ends. Seriously, I'm tempted to swerve from my formulated life to start a new one. What's left is some GUTS to start doing it. But then again, CAN I???

There's one such suitable song that kept circling my mind to end this: 要拼才会赢!

Jamiroquai and Moby Live in Malaysia??

Music: Natalie Cole- Lollipops and Roses Mood: Confused?

I did not believe my eyes when I saw this commecial on TV. http://malaysiangp.com.my/story/sepang-circuits-sepang-international-circuit

In conjuction to Grand Prix F1 2009, Jamiroquai and Moby MIGHT be hitting KL on April 2009.

I don't really give a hoot to Moby but Jamiroquai?? I mean, JAMIROQUAI??? The God of Funk live in KL?? Dammit, please don't announce anything when it's just a rumour! Like what they spread so much about Coldplay's appearance in Sunburst 2009, turns out to be a changed route to Singapore. It's so excruciating!

Jamiroquai already held an awesome gig in Singapore few years back, which is tormenting to the so-near-yet-so-far Malaysian fans. Please please let this happen here... we are all itching in agony @.@

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button… or was it Forrest Gump??

Music: Sylvester- I Can't Believe I'm In Love Mood: Hot

Has anyone watched this movie yet? If no here's a lil synopsis for ya: because a clock was being built to run backwards, Benjamin Button was born with a strange disease. He starts his life with wrinkled skin, arthritis and looked like an 80-yr-old baby. However he grows younger as time flies by, making him hunkier by the day. Brad Pitt plays Benjamin Button while the ever flawless Cate Blanchett plays Daisy, his painful love interest.

The movie was good, but not great. I was thinking about another movie for the entire two hours and forty five mins- The producers of Forrest Gump should sue Benjamin Button's producers since it's almost like a total rip-off! But then again after some research through the net and I found out that Eric Roth, screenwriter of Forrest Gump is indeed the screenwriter of....Benjamin Button. Oh well, I suppose there's no point suing yourself.

Here's a comparison of both movies, if you've watched Forrest Gump before, you'll get the concept of Benjamin Button; if you like the former, you'll like the latter; since they are both awfully alike, a tune of remixes by the screenwriter.

1) Adaptation from a book

Forrest Gump: "Forrest Gump" by Winston Groom

Benjamin Button: "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" by F.Scott Fitzgerald

2) Narrated by a cast

Forrest Gump: Narrated by himself to various people who sat at the bus stop.

Benjamin Button: Narrated by Daisy's daughter via Benjamin's diary.

3) Both eventually overcome physical disabilities

Forrest Gump: Forrest used to wear leg braces as a kid, but he eventually overcome it and was able to run at lightning speed.

Benjamin Button: Benjamin uses a wheelchair like an old fellow when he was 'young', he eventually learnt how to walk with a stick and 'grew younger' to walk like everyone else.

4) A tormented romance

Forrest Gump: It was love at first sight when Forrest met Jenny in his youth. Even though Jenny went through turbulence whereas Forrest had a remarkable journey in each lives, he never forgets Jenny after a series of missed connections.

Benjamin Button: It was love at first sight when Benjamin met Daisy in her youth and when he's still 'old'. They met again later when their age gap grew closer, then they finally hooked up, until they don't again when Benjamin youthens and Daisy ages. Benjamin never forgets Daisy until he suffers from Alzheimer's Disease as he became 'younger'.

5) Surviving a storm at sea

Forrest Gump: Forrest survived a hurricane in a shrimping boat.

Benjamin Button: Benjamin survived a hurricane in a tug boat in Gulf of Mexico.

6) Lost a loved one at War

Forrest Gump: Forrest lost his best friend Bubba in Vietnam War while Lieutenant Dan Taylor lost his legs.

Benjamin Button: Benjamin lost his mentor, Captain Mike in World War II.

7) A twist in relationship

Forrest Gump: After serving in Vietnam, Forrest reunites with Jenny, but abandons her after being put off by her free-wheeling ways with her Berkeley hippie friends.

Benjamin Button: After serving in World War II, Benjamin reunites with Daisy, but abandons her after being put off by her free-wheeling ways with her New-York-theater bohemian friends.

8) The use of an object as a symbol

Forrest Gump: Feather--> symbolizes destiny and dumb blind luck.

Benjamin Button: Hummingbird--> a messenger and stopper of time due to its speed. The hummingbird is also able to fly backwards, teaching us that we can look back on our past (and the whole Benjamin Button backward aging idea). It's also a frequently rambled about tattoo on Captain Mike's tricep and a reincarnation of himself after he died in the War.
Oh, both also had a soundtrack named after the symbols: 'Feather' and 'Hummingbird'.

9) Quotes

Forrest Gump: "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get"
Benjamin Button: "You never know what's coming for you"

10) Main Actor

What do B-r-a-d P-i-t-t and T-o-m H-a-n-k-s have in common? Both have 8 letters in their names! ^^

Thank God

Music: RubberBand- 城记 Mood: again, bored

Thank God Pin reached KL on time.

Thank God, and for the first time, he found a car park space within 5 mins in Mid Valley. (He had a personal record of finding a space after 45 mins)

Thank God we didn't lose our way to Solaris KL.

Thank God Saffron is just right opposite the main building.

Thank God we didn't lose our way from Mount' Kiara to 1 Utama.

Parking was FULL to the max at 8.50pm, but thank God again, we found a place in less than 5 mins, right NEXT to the exit.

At least 80 patrons were lining up ahead of us, where all movie tickets were nearly sold out with less than 24 seats available for each movie. We thought our blockbuster movie only had less than 12 seats left, which is definitely front rows.

Thank God someone cancelled their reservations, just RIGHT ON TIME when it reaches our turn, and we've found ourselves in BEST seats in cinema.

Thank God again, 'Slumdog Millionaire' was Awesome.

It's an Omen. A Good Omen.

Happy belated Valentine's Day 2009 ~!

Saffron might serve just bistro-like menu, but no harm sharing my dinner...:

Seafood Garlic- An aromatic rich prawn and mussel broth flavored with roasted garlic and chervil

Ensaladas Con Naranja Y' Esparagas- A refreshing combination of orange and asparagus salad with fine salad leaves tossed in Maditerranean citrus dressing

Chef's Specialty- Beef Rib-eye stuffed with NZ mussels, sauteed baby spinach and mashed potato served with peppercorn sauce

Chocolate crème brûlée- a creamy chocolate based custard topped with caramelized sugar

We started dining at 7pm since I was famished.

I couldn''t help but notice Pin no longer is the main aim here. Check out the constant onlooker behind.

Lolipop head was as curious as a kitten, and was remarkably obedient the whole night.

Check out more about Saffron at http://www.saffron.com.my/ , another outlet is situated at Jalan Ara, One Bangsar, near Bangsar Seafood Garden Restaurant.

How was your Feb 14 like?
