Jogoya + The unexpected

Music: Juwita Suwito- Desperado Mood: I wanna travel...

Actually, this is not even my point of blogging this post. Aaaanyway, I finally went to Jogoya last Saturday.

If it wasn't because of the buy one free one coupon, I wouldn't have visited this place, as I would be taking photo instead of taking food, paying to shoot photo nia ^^

I later found out that visitors are prohibited to 'shoot' around the restaurant, thus ended up taking photos of food after being brought to our table instead.

I managed to steal a few shots before being chased around by different staffs.

Raw food section- sashimi and some other seafood.

hotspring eggs.

Teppanyaki section- you choose your food to be prepared by the chefs.

Sukiyaki- you choose your choice of seafood and soup, then heat them up on a small gas stove on your table.

Here's another kind of DIY sukiyaki, you choose your own food, press soup from the soup tank and heat it up at your table.

The soup is so bland that I thought it might just be plain hot water.

Both teppanyaki and sushi tasted so ordinary that it kinda surprises me.

Spring egg taste like...well, normal half boiled eggs. Sashimi was dissapointing, I might have choosen the tough part as I couldn't even chew them properly, didn't managed to finish them either.

normal cooked food.

Star dish of the night- ebi tempura. A must-try. It's so crispy and addictive!

A wide variety of desserts made up of chocolates, cakes, omochi and cookies.

The green tea cake and tiramisu was nothing close to nice, too much whipped cream. At least the hazelnut chocolate cake still boleh tahan.

All Haagen Daaz ice creams were almost out when we get there, here are the remainings Pin managed to scrap from the bottom of each bucket.

I don't even wanna know what kind of 'cocktails' are this. Probably soda and coke?

We paid RM88+service & government tax= RM114 for the dinner. I still don't geddit why everyone was so hyped up about this Taiwan-based Japanese restaurant other than it's based in the posh Starhill Gallery. It felt like Marche (the Swiss food restaurant at The Curve), scoring A for variety, C for quality.

Ooh yes, I'm finally coming to my point. We went to Pavilion after this and saw a small crowd gathered in the middle of the walk way. Guess who we saw there?

Mahathir and his wife!!! i have no idea why would they go shopping on a Saturday night with minimal bodyguards around.

Expats loved them so much. So nice of them to stop and pose for pictures. Actually they were inching away slowly, I even caught Mahathir making a 'pai seh' look before the obedient crowd make way for their departure. ^^

how could u go to jogoya without me babe?? :~(

anyways i was in the hospital lah. haha.

for jogoya, i still love their juices, salmon fish heads, desserts and of course getting to cook the raw fishes myself (i order one pan without much ingredient, then i grill the raw fishes one by one..haha).

for xenri, i like the environment coz it's much more quiet compared to jogoya. you get to eat in peace.
and, i think it suits u more coz u dont eat much. their selection is quite limited anyway. get Pin to come along and join us on the 19th k?

and y did u go jogoya for dinner? should go for late lunch 2pm to 4pm. thats the cheapest babe!

Xenri's promo is only for Sat and Sun dinner + Sun lunch. Thats why. For April, its 20% off, i.e. RM50.60 per person.

March is 50% off, so its about rm35sumthing (i cant remember). more worthwhile but kena walk-in and walk about 1hour. If you are ok, u can go try with Pin before we go in April. I've done that twice. haha. Go at 6.30pm, put your name in, wait for about an hour or so, then masuk, then makan!

Yet, buffet is gonna be something that i'll do not so often now. Duno if u've heard from the rest, doc wants me to lose 1kg per month now for my health. ahhaha. Trying herbalife.

Utterly disappointed with the "Sashimies", it's like soft but too chewy, colourful but tasteless. "Sushies" are made too hasty, hard and tasteless.

Both are the representative of japanese cuisine and Jogoya really disappointed me.

Sad to see that nowadays people judge restaurant based on location, judge taste based on the money paid, judge quality based on how high class the restaurant is renovated.

Maybe too much tars on their tongue and too much money in their pocket eh?

probably they are comparing to the sushi restaurants that they've been to previously which is worse in quality??
